Biography

Miriam Shamess is a junior at UCCS studying psychology and PreMed. She hopes to gain research experience and aid in furthering our understanding of metacognition and psychological development in children. She plans to apply skills from this lab to her future ventures, including additional research work, hospital volunteering, and academics. After graduation, she plans to move back up to her hometown of Grand Rapids, Michigan, and apply for medical school in hopes of practicing psychiatry. She is an avid bird lover, artist, plant mom, cyclist, and writer in her free time.
